This is my assignment #3 final on gun violence reform.
For assignment #3, I have decided writing about gun laws and reforms.
For Digital Receipt #10, I have decided on reading on what assignment #3 is since I finished all my other assignments. For assignment #3, we have to write a research essay where we will look into current argumentative topics and present it to a specific audience. We’re free to pick any topic that we feel most comfortable writing about which made me think of a few options. I may end up writing this assignment on gun laws and how I think they should be prohibited more for the safety of the public. We have to use 4-7 sources total, consisting of 1-2 scholarly sources, 2-3 non-scholarly sources, and 1-2 multimedia sources. And in our attempts to persuade the audience into our argument, we should use rhetorical strategies to do so. The final essay should be 5-6 pages with a MLA style work cited page at the end.
For Digital receipt #9, I have completed my draft for Assignment #2: Rhetorical Analysis. For this assignment the text I’m referring to is: https://www.wfp.org/global-hunger-crisis
For Digital Receipt #8, I completed my WLLN final along with the media tools with it.
Writing the WLLN has allowed me to look back on my memories and reminisce about my wonderful past. I really enjoyed writing about my experiences in highschool with coding and how it reinforced my love for it. But looking back on my feedback I did see some faults with my writing and how they could have been worked upon. Even though I was writing about significant events in my life, I could have provided more experiences I had with computer science by providing my writing with more media so someone who doesn’t know anything about coding/computer science, can see what it was really about for me.
Many writers argue that the start of the technology era has influenced a downward spiral of the grammatical use of most people in society. While I don’t disagree with this, how is this any different than the evolution of the use of language changing periodically to fit different times? The English language used now is a lot different compared to the English of Shakespearean times. So who’s to say that the grammar behind the language has gotten worse when the grammar we use now makes more sense. I know I’m sort of answering my own question with this but this seems like an interesting question, it’s an interesting argument to have on whether our grammatical use of the language is diminishing due to technology or whether it’s evolving with us.
